BROADWAY PLAZA GROUNDSKEEPER

 Full job description

This part-time position performs semi-skilled, manual work, involving the cleaning, groundskeeping and maintenance of downtown Concordia and Broadway Plaza. Also included is assisting with set-up and clean-up of special events, and operating equipment specific to the area. Work involves interaction with other City employees, the general public, business owners, and other patrons of the Broadway Plaza and downtown. This position requires working various days of the week (including many weekends and holidays), and various hours of the day, which are subject to change on a weekly basis depending on the events scheduled in the area. This position must work independently without close supervision. Starting wage $16.40.


RESERVE FIREFIGHTER OR EMT

Firefighter: Under supervision, the Reserve Firefighter performs specialized work in the prevention and suppression of fires, as well as operating and maintaining fire department equipment and apparatus. Essential Functions: Respond to fire alarms; Make forcible entry into buildings when necessary; Combat fires;  Operate a variety of hand tools and equipment including power saws, hydraulic equipment, generators, fans, ladders etc.; Maintain and clean fire station, vehicles and equipment; Drives and operates fire department vehicles and equipment; Assist in inspections, prevention, and public education activities; Attend drills and classes for firefighters; Promote a professional image to co-workers and the public; Required to work twelve voluntary hours a month with on shift crew. EMT: Under supervision, the Reserve EMT performs specialized work in providing life saving services (EMS). EMT duties include responding with the ambulance to emergency calls. Duties follow prescribed policies and procedures, but independent judgment maybe required in certain circumstances. Essential Functions: Respond to ambulance calls; Make forcible entry into buildings when necessary; Assist in rescue operations involving vehicle accidents and implement correct medical procedures to the sick and injured; Drive and operate vehicles and a variety of equipment; Perform maintenance work in the upkeep of station equipment and facilities; Assist in public education activities; Complete appropriate records and reports; Attend drills and classes for emergency medical services; Promote a professional image to co-workers and the public.
